I graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with two degrees based in language. The first of these degrees was a major in English Literature; the second was a major in Germanic Studies, which focused on Literature and Language. I excelled in both of these fields and graduated with over a 3.5 GPA in both, as well as a minor in History.
Over the past few years since college, I have cultivated my knowledge of the English language and grammar by working in law firms and as an associate editor for a newswire agency. I am very familiar with legal terminology, as well as Chicago Style and AP Style grammar structures. During my time at a prominent law firm in New York, I excelled at what is colloquially called "Bluebooking" which delineates the grammar rules for legal documents as I was expected to both edit and summarize them on a regular basis.
Since leaving that position I have held two more editorial positions simultaneously as both the aforementioned associate editor at a well-known newswire agency as well as the more creative side of editing and writing as the music editor for a local Chicago Web site. During my tenure at the media Web site, I was responsible for both composing my own articles as well as editing the reviews of the writers I recruited.
