I earned my bachelor’s degree (BA) in English from the University of New Orleans (UNO), known among southern universities for its outstanding English department. I am currently working on my master’s degree (MA) in English from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) and have completed the majority of my degree. Following graduation, I would like to teach English full-time at the university level.
As an undergraduate at UNO, I took formal courses in technical writing and editing, preparing me for a career in editing and proofreading. I have also served as a staff member and as the editor of multiple student publications. At present, I hone my editing skills every day as a writing tutor at ULM. I am also a freelance editor and proofreader.
I read and edit quickly and professionally, and I have been told that my grammar is excellent. I also tend to catch mistakes that others may not, even my peers. I am experienced in MLA and APA format, especially MLA, although I can handle other formats. If I had to pick areas of expertise, I would choose research papers and journal articles, as I have dealt extensively with both.

I have also used the word processor packaged with the Works and Open Office Suites. I am also familiar with several other programs, including Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, Quark, and other text, photo, video, and audio editing programs.
