I am an experienced editor and copywriter with more than five years experience in education technical writing, health education copywriting and editing, and technical writing for the automobile parts industry.
In college, I majored in English with a minor in composition. As a graduate student, I worked alongside professors to edit and reconstruct their course documents and syllabi. My graduate work was in composition.
My copywriting and editing work began at a national automobile parts distributor where I wrote on demand, with strict and inflexible deadlines. Additionally, I proofread every written word that the CFO wrote, to ensure company climate and culture consistency.
My work continued as a copywriter and an editor in the healthcare industry where I wrote and edited manuals and pamphlets for gynecology and obstetrics. These documents required extensive research, yet I never failed to meet my deadlines.
Since January, I have written more than 500 pages of education text focusing on charter school law and rule for a local charter school. This work also required extensive research and careful crafting of language to represent the needs and wishes of my client. The document (a charter school application) was successfully submitted and accepted by the LEA.
As an editor I am careful, methodical and read with an eye of one who loves the written word. When I edit, I consider every word and its relationship to the next and then the next and so on. It is vital for clients that their words reflect their overarching goals for their document. Additionally, my research skills are well-honed, ready for content editing and fact-checking.
