I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications (Advertising) and an Associate of Arts degree in English. In addition, I have recently completed a course in proofreading for business.
I have done this type of work for many years, including proofreading a book on buying and selling property, proofreading all correspondence on a two-year legal case, and proofreading and editing a doctoral thesis in child psychology.
As well my extensive proofreading and editing experience, I have broad experience of operations and marketing in the travel industry.
I now live and work in Australia, but I have also worked and lived in Ireland, England and the USA. I am therefore familiar with the differences in language, style and spelling between each region.
I am very particular when it comes to grammar, punctuation and spelling, and have a keen eye for detail. I am conscientious and can work to a deadline.
I read voraciously, often getting through 2 books per week. Proofreading and editing come naturally to me, and I often find myself mentally editing articles and books as I read them!
My score on the proofreading/editing test for this site is 98%, which ranks me in 1st place for Australian editors on the site. This score also places me in the top 5% of ALL editors on this site! I took the test in approximately half the alloted time, and without reference to any dictionaries or manuals.
