I have spent 4 years in education editing and proofing. I strive to make sure that there are no errors such as letters in the wrong order. That all the material is included and is in the right place. That page numbers are in the right order and the document follows the intended style. I especially ensure that there are no confusing words, column or page breaks.
I have experience using Microsoft Word using the “tracking changes” feature so that my writers can see my suggestions and choose whether or not to implement my edits into their work. I understand how important it is to keep the 'voice' of the piece without compromising the editing process. I am comfortable reading scholarly articles and am proficient in the use of The Chicago Manual of Style and the American Psychology Association (APA) Style.
Once you have written and rewritten a piece of work it can be difficult to spot your own errors.
