My educational background is in science. I have Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Biochemistry, and a comprehensive background in mathematics and the sciences. During my education, I completed coursework in biology, microbiology, chemistry, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, virology, bacteriology, physics, and mathematics, including trigonometry and calculus. I worked for two years in the personal laboratory of my advisor while completing an honors thesis in biochemistry.
Since graduation, I have worked for 5 years in the petroleum engineering industry and have become familiar with the industry's practices and terminology, as well as with laboratory testing procedures for petroleum feeds and products. I have been a registered Patent Agent with the USPTO since 2005 and have worked on mechanical patent applications and patent searches for a variety of clients.
Since 2006, I have been employed as a writer for www.EdHelper.com. I write a variety of materials for students in grades K-12, including hands-on science activities, science lessons, and analogies covering a wide variety of subjects. My work with EdHelper has introduced me to the field of proofreading and has proven to be an excellent fit for a logical and formulaic mind.
