From sports to hard news, I have a journalism background and editing experience that spans numerous avenues over the past six-plus years.
Currently, I am the Chicago Sports Examiner at Examiner.com, having spent the previous 14 months as the Public Relations and Marketing Director for Chicago Storm Professional Indoor Soccer.
My most extensive newspaper background was through the NorthWest News Group in Crystal Lake, Ill., from 2005 to 2007. I was a sports copy editor for its daily newspapers, the Northwest Herald and Kane County Chronicle, and was the head of a four-person copy desk for the Lake County Journals. I designed pages, edited both staff and wire copy, and contributed my own column at the Northwest Herald and the Lake County Journals.
In 2004 and 2005, I balanced duties as the Ozaukee County News Graphic (Cedarburg, Wis.) Sports Editor and as the Assistant Sports Information Director for the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Division III athletics program. The News Graphic is a bi-weekly newspaper serving several communities north of Milwaukee.
From 2002 to 2004, I was a Sports Reporter/Copy Editor for the Beloit Daily News in Beloit, Wis., covering high school, college and minor-league sports, while also editing staff and wire copy.
