As a marketing professional for the last thirty years, I have had the opportunity to create the entire range of marketing tools and ancillary materials. This ranges from business proposals to product descriptions to credential statements and resumes. Along with that I have written hundreds of letters, on a freelance basis and in the areas of health care, senior care, financial services, education and on an as-needed basis.
With respect to editing, I have edited both fiction and non-fiction. I have done as much proofreading as editing, working in the media of short story, newsletters and business documents as described above.
As a freelancer, I have the time and opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. I am able to proofread for grammar/spelling/punctuation, with or without editing. More importantly, if we can discuss your intentions, objectives and philosophies, I have the ability and experience to convert those to words that sound as if you have created them.
In addition to my academic background both in English and secondary education, I speak French and Spanish and have the advantage of a serious background in language, how it evolved and how to use it to its greatest advantage. As references, I use the traditional dictionary and thesaurus as well as the Chicago Manual of Style and Strunk & White.
