I am German, but grew up bilingually. I studied in Germany Ethnology and Prehistory, worked as a student for a research team of Cambridge University (UK) in Sri Lanka.
In Sri Lanka I met my husband, a Japanese and we moved to Japan in 1993. There we started a language school with additional translation/proofreading services for English/German/Japanese).
I worked freelance for the town, taught English and German in companies, nurse schools and public elementary schools as well as in our own language school.
In 2005 we moved to Sri Lanka and I started as a freelance translator/proofreader, with jobs coming in through the net.
I do not concentrate on specialty fields, but tend to reject work for technical descriptions, as you need special terms, that I am not familiar with.
