I am a professional archaeologist with more than 30 technical reports under my belt. Technical writing and editing are my forte, but I am also proficient in editing fiction of any sort (screenplays, novels, propaganda for the media). Proofreading is another expertise. I read the Chicago Manual of Style for inspiration and revel in correcting everyone's punctuation. I minored in German in college and can offer translating / editing services in that language as well. In addition, I am obtaining my Master of the Arts degree from a British university and am adept at editing "British" English as well as "American" English.
My archaeological work entails interacting with numerous disciplines, including civil engineers, roadway designers, architects, environmental planners, government agencies, and private developers. This has given me a unique insight into the inner workings of different disciplines and the ability to tailor my work to the individual type of client. I am well aware of what type of language style is appropriate for select situations and have no difficulties switching from one style to another.
