I'm a rounded Modern Languages graduate with a first class BA in German with Spanish from the University of Westminster.
Since July, I have been doing some proofreading for an American translation agency in their London office. My responsibilities include checking that the English translation of documents is identical to their German original and correcting spelling, grammatical, omission and layout errors. I have also worked with documents translated from a number of other languages and would be happy to proofread documents translated from Spanish. The delighted response from clients has highlighted my eye for detail and the fact that I can work well under pressure.
I spent the third year of my degree in Germany. During the first half of the year, I worked for six months as an English Language assistant at a secondary school near Stuttgart, where my responsibilities included working with small groups in English lessons, organising and leading whole class activities, providing resources and correcting written work produced by the students. I then studied for a semester at a partner university in Munich.
I'm a competent user of the computer and have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Overall, I'm very reliable, highly self-motivated and have a good memory. I'm flexible, always pay close attention to detail and am available to start work immediately.
