I have some substantial experience in writing and editing as I have done this for magazines, college newspaper and an online academic journal. I am a recent graduate from university and looking to build on my experience and continue my career. My English writing and reading abilities are quite high.
During my time in school, I wrote for two years for the college newspaper as well as serve as associate editor for a national online academic journal of International Development Studies. I checked submitted manuscripts which were all over 10 pages long, for grammatical, spelling and factual errors and suggested corrections and improvements.
I also wrote several articles for a magazine outside of school which is published and distributed across the city. Altogether, I have written over forty articles on various topics like profiles of successful immigrant entrepreneurs and activists, news events and lectures, human rights, technology and non-fiction book reviews.
My editing experience stems from my stint as associate editor as mentioned above, and also from an editorial internship served at an English-language daily in Asia where I checked local news and business articles for grammatical, spelling and factual errors. I also checked foreign wire articles for similar errors and edited headlines to fit the newspaper's required length.
