Learning Spanish at an early age in Colombia, South America, gives me a unique perspective on Latin American culture and the ability to translate from English to Spanish or Spanish to English, as I am fluent in both languages.
I perfected my grammar and literature skills in Spanish by minoring in the subject at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. With a major in journalism, I also fine-tuned my grammar and reading skills in English.
During college, my internship was with the Woman's Missionary Union, where I proofread magazine articles for religious publications.
After graduation, I worked for weekly and daily newspapers in Mississippi for five years, writing stories on police reports, local government, education, sports, features and more. I won two Mississippi Press Association awards for my reporting skills.
I now work at a doctor's office in Alabama, serving as a translator for the many Hispanic patients that come in to our office. I have been trained as a registered medical coder and computer technical support person for the office as well.
My well-rounded background and education, along with a lifelong love for reading and writing will enable me to edit your publication with great skill. I trust you will find my work more than satisfactory.
