I also proofread newspaper layouts, correcting graphic errors and inconsistencies, and legal notices, to compare two copies of the same document and make sure they are identical. When reading fiction or other longer works, I mentally edit as I go, when plots and characters are inconsistent or poorly delineated, when descriptions are unclear or word usage is subpar, or wordflow is confusing or boring.
