I have a background in several technically-related areas. I am especially good at explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and can be helpful for someone presenting a talk or developing a user manual. Beginning my career in computers, I programmed in Fortran for five years. I then chose to pursue a graduate education, obtaining a degree in Experimental Psychology with a co-major in Clinical Psychology. I spent my next ten years in medical schools doing research and publishing papers, maintaining a clinical practice, teaching medical students, and operating a laboratory. These activities resulted in my participating as author on eleven published scientific papers as well as presentations at a number of conferences. After another eight-year period of clinical practice outside of academia in which I worked with highly complex cases, I chose to return to technical work and re-entered the computer field. I have spent the last ten years involved in designing databases, and providing reporting, systems analysis, business analysis, and project management for the health care, government, and business fields. Consequently, I have significant experience writing and editing scientific papers, grants, technical documentation, planning documents, business cases, and business documents. I also enjoy working on non-technical articles, stories, and books.
