I am an experienced English teacher who was recently honored as District Teacher of the Year. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, which focus heavily on grammar, proper punctuation and writing skills, I also had a part time position with a local newspaper for 12 years. My tasks included editing, rewriting and proofreading various articles, texts and press releases covering a wide variety of topics. As one might expect, the ability to work under a deadline is absolutely necessary and I am quite comfortable working whatever hours are necessary in order to complete a task competently and in good time.
I am comfortable with technical language and have had experience editing and proofreading different types of manuscripts.
I am very well versed in many computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office and Quark Express and will eagerly and quickly learn any other programs which may be required. I am also extremely reliable and competent and look forward to obtaining work wherein I may provide a mutually beneficial relationship with clients in the publishing/editing field.
