The editor received a BSBA-Business, summa cum laude (Most Outstanding Management Student, Wall Street Journal Award, Phi Kappa Phi, Humanities/Behavioral Sciences Honor Society, VP-Business Club, University Hostess, Homecoming Princess) in 1979. She began her career in computer sales with Burroughs (now Unisys), and joined the former Bell System in 1981 as an Account Executive. She remained in sales for four more years, winning multiple sales awards during that time. In 1984 she joined BellSouth as an Assistant Product Manager, and in 1985 was promoted to Senior Staff Manager of Market Research. In 1987, she was recruited by Nortel Networks, where she worked in market research through 1992, when she joined the Bellcore (now Telcordia) Account Management Team. She also completed her Executive MBA at Vanderbilt in 1992. Three years later, she moved to Santa Clara, CA to run Nortel's Global PBX team. In 1997, she joined Telcordia as General Manager of its new Pacific Region, which she grew into a $10M business by yearend 1999. She retired in 2000 to start her own company, focusing on market research and mystery shopping. She is an award-winning essayist and poet, a working stage and on-camera actress, and a singer/songwriter with four CDs released. She is married, no kids
