I graduated summa cum laude with a BA in English/Creative Writing and a minor in Sociology. Since then, I have worked as an Editor with a major textbook company, meeting strict deadlines and an expectation for quality work. I have helped with many freelance jobs in my spare time and am looking to take on more. Being only a few years out of college, I have recent knowledge of the industry and am young enough to have grown up with computers all my life. The Internet is second nature to me, and coupled with my knowledge of the English language, I am a perfect candidate for any proofing job.
Prior to my current job, I worked as a news correspondent for the Quad City Times, so I've been both behind the pen as well as reviewing others' work. I have training in Microsoft Word, Excel, InCopy, and Quark, and consider myself to be extremely computer savvy. I'm never away from the Internet for more than a few hours, so I'm always easy to contact and can guarantee a fast, if not instant, response.
My interests range from cooking to architecture to video games, and everywhere in between. I read the news every day and am therefore very familiar with current events. Along with reading the paper, I do a lot of recreational reading. I enjoy movies (who doesn't?) and the outdoors, be it camping, kayaking, or just lounging at the beach.
