Profile I graduated with a BA in English/Language Arts in the field of education. In college I worked in the School of Education office where I did a lot of office work. This included writing and editing letters. I also have a Master's Degree in Education in the area of reading, as well as a Reading Endorsement.
I have been a teacher for almost 10 years. I help students edit their work on a daily basis. I have worked as a tutor as well, helping students develop and edit their own writing. I also have several friends, family, and coworkers who ask me to edit their writing for them, because they know how I am about details in writing and grammar usage.
When my sister had her own business, I helped her with word choice and phrasing in her product and advertising. I also helped her to edit anything that was published or advertised as well.
I also find myself constantly editing other writing I see: things I get in the mail, other teachers' newsletters, church bulletins, signs, restaurant menus, etc. I feel that every time I read, I am editing whatever I see. Even a simple sign or billboard on the road or highway will catch my attention if the grammar is incorrect or an apostrophe is used incorrectly, or the spelling is incorrect. I am always on the lookout when reading anything! It's just something I naturally do.
