I received a BA in English from Fordham University and worked as an intern at Thomas Publishing with a magazine catering to the transportation industry. I was offered a full time position as an Editor for that monthly publication, but was eager to work with books. I became the Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of HarperCollins Children's Books, where I worked very closely with Copy Editors and made sure that every piece of writing was perfect before it left our office. Much to my boss' dismay, I found that I was not challenged enough and did not have enough work to proofread. Deciding to help cut off some of the world's grammar offenders at the beginning, I left and went back to school for my Master's in Education. For the last ten years, I have worked with high school students to successfully improve their writing skills, and I absolutely love proofreading. My students know that my green pen will be all over their papers if they do not check and recheck their work. I have developed an obsession with proper grammar and punctuation, and am a perfectionist regarding the written word.
