An editor with experience in many forms of literature, journalism, historical, cultural and creative writing, with extensive knowledge of the humanities.
My professional experience has included proofreading, editing, feature writing, sports writing and photo journalism. I served as a reporter, columnist, photographer and proofreader at an independent, local newspaper throughout my high school career and at the present time. Currently I work as a sports reporter and look to resume column-writing.
In the academic field, I have excelled in the study of literature (ancient, medieval, Renaissance, Victorian and modern) history and religion. I also served as Feature Editor for the student newspaper during my sophomore year, which added to my journalistic experience. I have been awarded with English Award ('06) and the Phi Delta Lambda Award for outstanding graduating English major ('07), both from Trevecca Nazarene University where I received my B.A. in English ('07). As a history student, I was awarded first place in the Student Research Symposium at the university for my historical research presentation on a topic in Tennessee history and its relation to culture.
My specific interests are all forms of literature (poetry, fiction, non-fiction, as well as historical, religious and philosophical writing), creative writing, and visual art. Additionally, I have a cursory knowledge of the German language.
Finally, my creative writing experience is also considerable: I have authored numerous short stories and poems, in addition to a 60 pp. novella.
