After graduating from The University of Georgia, I worked for a publishing company for five years. During that time, I managed the editing and proofreading of a monthly magazine. Sometimes this job required rewriting articles to improve the flow and readability for the target audience. My approval was the final step before the articles were printed. I also have my Master’s Degree in Special Education. While earning this degree, I had to edit my own work before turning it in to be graded. I have completed my Master’s thesis, and if accepted, it will appear in an educational journal. I taught special education classes for four years, including instruction in language arts at the middle school and high school level. My educational background provided the information needed to instruct these students in the areas of composition, grammar, and punctuation. I am currently a part-time instructor at The University of Georgia which requires grading college-level assignments for content as well as grammatical and spelling errors. I have a good eye for locating different types of writing errors, and I enjoy the process of getting a written piece to its final form. I believe it is essential to locate and correct all writing errors in order to gain the attention and respect of readers.
