I currently work as a meteorologist. We send out forecasts to clients all over the world, and I am constantly proofreading forecasts each day. I am also the head proofreader at work for all of the forensic weather reports we publish, such as reports dealing with Hurricane Katrina and slip and falls due to snowstorms. I proofread about 20-30 of these reports per week, and I've been doing this for the past 2 years. My coworkers always go to me with anything they are going to send out so that I can proof it first. I am very meticulous and thorough and will pore over every detail of your work. I will accept any type of material, and I am especially good at reports that may also contain numbers and graphs that need to be checked. Since I graduated from college less than 3 years ago, I still have fresh skills on proofreading and editing college papers.
Ever since I was a child, mistakes in newspapers always jumped out at me. My high school newspaper was especially bad, and I wished that I had joined the editing team so that I could fix all the mistake, but had too many other commitments. I truly enjoy finding mistakes and correcting them, knowing that my changes will make the document that much easier for others to read and understand. I hope to be able to help many people through this site.
