My greatest professional joy is to help a writer where she or he is right now and work to develop the message until the writer is satisfied. Writing is such a rewarding task because it helps us develop our minds and gain awareness of our intentions, choices, style, and preferences.
I began working as a editor over nine years ago, and I have edited and proofread academic books and articles (literary topics are of special interest), essays (MLA format), and business documents. I have also taught all of these areas at the college level. As a native English speaker who has taught English/ESL to elementary students through adults, I take pride in my sensitivity to the challenges and needs of all writers.
I currently work as a private 1 on 1 tutor for students of all ages in a wide range of subjects (writing, reading, study skills, test prep, college admissions essays). I have also designed much of my firm's writing and organization curricula. My secondary areas of interest and editing/proofing expertise include: cultural studies, marketing, real estate, psychology, memoir, and speeches.
