I am currently an elementary school teacher. I work with students who have learning differences and require more help than the average student. While earning my degree in English, I took courses in technical writing and desktop publishing and most of my classes required several compositions during the course of the semester. My professors were not kind if your work was riddled with punctuation and grammar errors! Since leaving college, I have helped many friends and family members with work they needed to have 'tweaked' before handing it in to a boss.
I have noticed over the years that there are an abundance of mistakes in published written work. It has almost become a game to ‘spot the mistake’ when I am reading an article or book! I love to read, so I read every chance I get. This has exposed me to many different types and styles of writing. I know what looks and sounds good. I also know how bad it looks when mistakes slip past the editor and accidentally get published. Those mistakes reflect on the writer, the editor and the proofreader. Let me read through your writing and help you give it that “finishing touch” it needs before you publish it! I find helping others to be both challenging and rewarding and I look forward to helping you!
