I'm a 2005 graduate of Michigan State University School of Journalism. I completed several hours of coursework in news editing. I have a VERY strong knowledge of grammar and AP Style. I completed an undergraduate specialization in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, which included 3 years of Spanish language coursework.
I worked for 3 years as an office administrator in a mental health capacity, where duties included editing confidential correspondence and documents. I have a working knowledge of psychology and DSM terminology. I also worked as a test scoring associate for K-12 state writing tests in Georgia and Mass. I was trained to recognize student writer competence in grammar, content, organization and writing style. I demonstrated high validity/accuracy scores and excellent productivity in test scoring. I also have one year of freelance writing experience for a daily newspaper.
