Profile
I live in San Francisco, CA, where I work as Managing Editor of ZYZZYVA magazine. I am also a freelance editor and a published writer; I have edited everything from how-to books to spiritual memoirs to dissertations, and I guarantee fast turnaround and error-free work. Whether you need editing for your book or your website, I will get your writing where it needs to be.
A member of the Bay Area Editors Forum, I have completed a course taught by Amy Einsohn, author of The Copyeditor's Handbook, official textbook of UC Berkeley continuing education courses. Beyond fixing typos and grammar, I ensure consistency throughout your manuscript and rework awkward phrasing. I work primarily using the Track Changes feature in MS Word, which means that I can work with you no matter where you are located. I am familiar with the MLA and Chicago manuals of style. I graduated from Pomona College with a degree in English/creative writing and attended the master's program in fiction writing at the University of California, Davis. After leaving Davis, I moved to New York City, where I worked as the proclamations writer for Mayor Bloomberg.
Every writer needs, at some point in the writing process, a second pair of eyes. My eyes are trained to catch every error and to spot ways to make a good sentence great.
