I provide copyediting and proofreading with quick turnarounds and attention to detail. I've worked in educational publishing for nearly 10 years. My experience is with elementary grades, mainly language arts, but I've worked in nearly every subject, helping prepare textbooks, assessments, and other ancillary materials. I have also helped a few authors prepare fiction manuscripts for publication. My editing style with fiction is that of a critique partner/editor, not only editing but asking questions and making suggestions, working with the writer to create the best possible product. I'm well versed in the Chicago Manual of Style and familiar with AP. Since my previous full-time experience was as an administrative assistant, I'm also comfortable with office documents, business letters, and marketing materials. I understand the goal of clear, concise communication in the business and educational world and attempt to make complex ideas easily understood by the reader, whether a school teacher, student, or business person. I take great pride in my work and will go the extra mile to make sure a product is the best it can be. Since I work from home, I am available in the evenings and on weekends. I won't hesitate to ask questions or clarify instructions, but I'm a self starter and don't need to be walked through projects.
