I'm a freelance writer who graduated with honors and a B.A. in writing from Missouri State University. I spent several year writing and editing for the role-playing game industry before taking a hiatus to work as a database programmer, but am now working to re-establish myself in my original career.
I'm a freelance writer who graduated with honors and a B.A. in writing from Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State University), where I became known in the department as much for my rare analytical skills as for my gift for the language.
I went on to make my first writing sale immediately after graduation, and began writing for the game industry (Alderac Entertainment Group, Chaosium, Gray Ghost Games, TSR) where I also assisted in proofreading and quality control.
Looking for better pay, I spent five years as a professional database programmer, dealing with the unforgiving taskmaster of a computer who would cry foul if so much as a single letter was out of place.
To keep writing during this period, I expanded from print to working with online text-based virtual worlds (collectively known as MUDs, the precursors to today's graphical MMORPGs), creating and editing the descriptive passage from which such games are built. Most were amateur endeavors, but I've become a top-ranked "builder" for the game Lusternia, owned by Iron Realms Entertainment.
Ultimately, though, the quiet life of my own home office began calling to me once more, and I've gone back to the writing career, editing to supplement my income while I re-establish myself.
