After thirty-five years employment in the education field, I have become known as the Master Editor in my workplace. Be it for a colleague or pupil, I enthusiastically attempt any writing challenge. My expertise includes proofreading, revising, and editing student essays, narratives, and college research papers as well as composing newsletter articles. An added addition to my repertoire of writing experiences is reviewing a Prentice Hall workbook before publication.
Due to efficient language ease and excellent grammatical skills, both friends and colleagues request my assistance. Although I can visualize the "ideal whole" behind words, I always afford the writer the opportunity to formulate his thoughts and words before formulating mine, keeping in mind, "Patience is a virtue." An editor must never forget that it is the author's work, and it must remain true to the author's voice.
Meeting deadlines, working under pressure, determination, and persistence are attributes that will ensure my success as a freelance editor. Being creative but not imposing on the author is also an important quality I possess because of my ability to put myself in the reader's place.
