My mother was an English teacher. She constantly corrected my grammar, and I never wanted to be like her. However, she taught me to love the English language. It is that love of the language that brought me to become an English teacher.
I majored in journalism in college, and I minored in education. I also was a reporter for my college newspaper. I student-taught for one the best high school yearbook advisers in the state of Texas. I am now a certified English/language arts and journalism teacher in the state of Texas. I currently teach sophomore English.
I love to read, and I love to edit and correct writings even more. I am constantly looking through newspapers, books, flyers and websites for errors. Sadly, more often than I should, I find those errors. The best way to find errors is to pay close attention to detail. I always am aware of the details; that is one reason I make such a great editor.
