I am a bilingual, Cornell University graduate with an international background looking for freelance proofreading, translating, and editing work. I have worked as a teacher and have experience proofreading non-native English speaker’s writing, academic writing, and prose. I can translate between English and Spanish.
At Cornell, I majored in psychology and minored in Spanish, earning a 3.8 GPA. I became familiar with critical literary analysis, academic writing, grant proposals, and newsletter writing.
After college, I worked in Antigua, Guatemala as a teacher at a bilingual school. I proofread high school final papers and read continuously, developing familiarity with Spanish journalism and fiction.
In the U.S., I gained experience writing newsletter entries, translating, and again, correcting papers as a counselor in the public school system.
I am a licensed massage therapist, familiar with medical terminology, especially in the fields of anatomy and physiology. I read fiction, non-fiction, magazine articles, children's literature, and periodicals recreationally.
Most currently, I have been proofreading for a weekly bilingual publication. I have time to take on more projects and still offer a quick turnover.
