I have been an English teacher for over ten years. Spelling, usage and word choice corrections are a specialty. I also excel in offering suggestions for improvement in conciseness and word appropriateness. Writing is my second love, and I read voraciously, so I am excellent at recognizing and appreciating good writing. As part of my job, I edit newsletters and proofread letters. Besides grading papers and suggesting improvements, I also contribute to my school improvement plan by writing parts of the plan. Deciphering the handwriting of my students is also a skill I have developed over the years, as well as interpreting the meaning behind the words and helping them to convey their ideas more effectively. I volunteer as my church secretary, where I proofread and rewrite letters and newsletter articles. I have experience in layouts of newspapers and newsletters, using clip art effectively, and creating attractive presentations for all sorts of events. Creativity is another strength, using words and layouts in unique and eye-catching ways. During the summer, I have more time to spend on projects and tutoring, and I enjoy using my English skills in different ways. I have a reputation as a concise writer and speaker, and a responsible task completer. I meet deadlines consistently and do well at a variety of duties.
