I am currently a K-5 School Media Coordinator. This will be my 6th year as a media coordinator. Previously, I was a K-5 classroom teacher, with most of my experience in grades 3-5. I read voraciously and would love to begin editing for others. Let me do the busy work and you keep on creating!!

I graduated from college in 1989 with a BS degree in Elementary Education. I was a classroom teacher for 14 years with most of my experience in grades 3-5. I taught narrative writing and the use of editing marks to fourth grade. I obtained my MLS degree in Library Science in December of 2005. This is my sixth year as a school media coordinator.
Because of my profession and a personal voracious appetite for reading, I have a book in my hands approximately 75% of the day. I read children's books during the day and my "grown-up" books at night. My personal reading spans historical fiction and non-fiction, mystery, religious fiction, romance and any other book jacket that catches my eye! I should own stock in a bookseller!In my readings, I am constantly finding typographical errors and grammatical errors that could have been caught easily. It is hard to explain to students why a word is not spelled correctly in a story or the newspaper! Even harder to explain is why something is included in a story that does not have any relevance to the story.
I would love to be able to work as a proofreader/editor. I have all of the equipment necessary to complete your job efficiently and promptly. I work constantly to keep my skills updated with technology. Through the use of technology, I build my vocabulary and spelling skills. I am also involved in many workshops and attend conferences related to my field.
