I have an MA in English, and 25 years of experience in writing and editing technical and less-technical documents. As an editor, I can work on multiple levels of editing, from mechanics (grammar and punctuation) to substance (organization, concepts). Technical areas of expertise include programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation, and related software and hardware. I am also very comfortable with writing and editing marketing brochures and supporting materials for a wide variety of products.
Other areas of expertise include music (I am a professional musician and music teacher, and use Sibelius music notation software), fiction (I have edited several historical fiction novels--and they are still in print!), non-fiction, and biography.

I have worked as a technical writer/editor for the World Health Organization (editing medical/chemical papers, conforming to style sheets), Texas Instruments (automation, PLCs), Becton-Dickinson (medical, manufacturing), Square D Company (automation, PLCs), IBM (on-site contract work writing executive communications, documentation for s/w and h/w, and articles for IBM-internal web pages).
I have also worked as a contractor for a number of other smaller companies, writing marketing materials and technical documentation for their products.
