I have a Ph.D. in biochemistry and eight years of academic research experience as well as nine years of combined legal and biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience in the United States and Canada. I qualified as a U.S. patent agent in 2003 and I’m in the process of obtaining the equivalent qualification in Canada.
I’ve been a freelance editor of academic research manuscripts in biology, chemistry and physics for nine years. I spent two years as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science postdoctoral fellow at the Okazaki National Research Institutes where I first became aware of the challenges faced by academic researchers who use English as a second language (ESL) and who wish to publish their work in English language peer-reviewed journals.
I have also done some academic ghost-writing of review articles for ESL professors.
I will edit your scientific documents so that:
- Your narrative flows smoothly so that the specific points made are
easily understood.
- Edits are made without changing the content of the narrative. A failure
to do so can cause arguments and conclusions to be misinterpreted.
This is the reason that a scientist who is also an experienced writer is
best suited to edit scientific manuscripts.
- Your work is published as soon as possible. Others may be working
towards similar discoveries, or perhaps you want your published paper
to be listed in a research grant application with an impending deadline.
An essential aspect to providing editing services is to complete the job
quickly.
Your work deserves to be entrusted to an editor who understands
your research and who is capable of correcting mistakes while
retaining respect for your voice.
Academic manuscripts edited by me have been published in the following science journals: Advances in Protein Chemistry, Angewandte Chemie, Annals of Forest Science, Applied Spectroscopy, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Brain Research Bulletin, Chemical Communications, Chemical Letters, ChemSusChem, EMBO Journal, FEBS Letters, FEBS Journal, Food and Chemical, Glia, Toxicology, Inorganic Chemistry, Inorganica Chimica Acta, International Immunopharmacology, Japanese Journal of Physics, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Journal of Applied Genetics, Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes, Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry, Journal of Molecular Medicine, Journal of Neuroscience, Macromolecules, Neurochemistry International, Nobel Symposium Abstracts, Organic Letters, Physical Reviews Letters, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences U.S.A., Toxicological Sciences, Toxicology, and Vacuum.
I look forward to assisting you with publishing your work in one of these journals or any other journal of your choice!
