For ten wonderful years I taught high school English. During that time, I worked with experienced and inexperienced writers alike, molding their prose into clear, concise, and grammatically correct composition. As a recently retired teacher, I plan to continue to use my editing expertise to assist other writers accomplish clear, concise, and grammatically correct communication. Proofreading and editing is the most important stage of the writing process and the most difficult. It is tedious and time consuming, and I have been known to spend hours pouring over the written word focusing on choosing the precise word or phrase as well as checking and rechecking punctuation, capitalization, mechanics, and spelling. I can work fast and effectively correcting errors in spelling, usage, punctuation, capitalization, and mechanics. I can fix and improve sentence structure, word choice, and usage. I have an expertise in grammar and writing that most people do not possess, as I taught the material for ten years and have proofread and edited nearly ten thousand essays, research papers, short stories, poems, op-ed pieces, etc. I look forward to many more years of the same.
