I have been an English teacher for the past seven years, which has helped give me an intimate and extensive knowledge of English grammatical structure, and has allowed me to become acquainted with varied writing genres and styles, including English for business and finance, technical writings, educational texts, and fictional works.
While living in Korea I edited and published an English-language newspaper, and in Mexico helped create a multi-level set of ESL textbooks for a prestigious language academy. Earlier this year I assisted in the copy editing of a major publication for the Mental Disability Advocacy Center (MDAC), and wrote Internet content for the same organization. I have also done copy editing for various tourism publications in Budapest, where I now reside, as well as work on several grant proposals for non-profit organizations.
A part of my value as an editor stems from my literary experience. As a literature major in university, I won several literary prizes for critical as well as creative writing, and have had several short stories and poems published. I am a voracious reader, consuming fiction and poetry, news journalism and nonfiction, science, histories and biographies with equal appetite.
