I am a writer and editor with over ten years of experience. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996 with a BA in Secondary English Education. After graduating from UNC-CH, I furthered my education at North Carolina State University, earning an MS in Technical Communication. Since that time, I have worked as a high school English teacher, technical writer and editor.
Since 1998, I have worked at IBM with the titles of Information Developer and Web Developer. My duties as Information Developer include writing, reviewing and editing both internal and external documentation. I also create writing standards for the department and educate the other members of the department. As a Web Developer, I wrote, edited, coded and maintained copy for several IBM web sites.
I have worked as a freelancer writer and editor for Cisco Systems and various local health web sites. While working with Cisco, I performed all work from my home office, which contains all the equipment necessary to maintain a successful working relationship as a freelancer. I worked with Cisco on two books about the telephony industry. I collaborated with their project leader, three authors and various other project managers.
