Employed in the film business for 10 years, I became interested in the proofreading process on the television show "Everwood" where I was hired as Production Coordinator and eventually Script Coordinator. Soon after that, I began to proofread screenplays on various film projects in the Salt Lake City area, most notably for Disney Channel projects including the the "High School Musical" trilogy. As screenplays undergo countless revisions, especially during production, it is critical to ensure that revisions made to one area of a script are consistent throughout.
Beyond checking screenplays for grammatical and formatting errors, I have also worked as a Production Coordinator and am therefore familiar with the various areas and departments in film production; from casting to location scouts to post-production. I have edited/proofread from a writer's as well as director's point of view. I am very aware that a director may need to initiate logistical changes to a script that may not have occurred to a writer. Having a familiarity with the production process enables me to provide continuity suggestions which can potentially save a film production thousands of dollars.
