For as long as I can remember, I have been surrounded by people of words -- I come from a long family tradition of readers and writers, speakers and communicators, debaters and persuaders. I've pursued the way of words throughout my adolescence and adult life, earning dual bachelor degrees in English and English Education in college.
I have worked with words in practically every context imaginable -- as a student; as a researcher; as an ESL instructor for children; as a journalist; as a professional editor for newspapers, magazines, and a scholarly journal; as a writer of academic papers, of narratives, and of poetry, and finally as a public speaker. My professional editing experience extends for more than four years, and my experience as a writer extends even beyond that. I have worked with high school students as an editor and teacher of language arts for both academic and creative projects.
I am a voracious reader with interests that run the gamut from narrative fiction to astronomy to history to culinary arts. I am also a tenacious researcher, and I welcome new challenges or additions to my knowledge base.
