Tight deadlines and clients with high standards are the norm for my work. A quick reader, with an eye for detail, I believe writing should be clear, active and engage the reader. I work diligently to provide that for my clients.
Since earning my Bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism from Washington State University, my career has centered around writing and editing. My initial experience involved writing and editing newspapers in Washington and Idaho.
Following that work, I began a treatment program for behaviorally disturbed teenagers, which required extensive writing of program descriptions, grants, press releases, informational materials and brochures about the program.
My work took me to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Community Relations Bureau where I wrote and edited brochures, articles, press releases, grants and training materials for businesses and community groups. This culminated when I went to law school and a stint on a Nevada gubernatorial campaign. I contributed research and writing related to the campaign platforms on crime, juveniles, and health and human services.
Since completing law school, my work involves constant writing and editing of legal documents, primarily in the areas of business management, employee relations, construction defect, premises liability, and general liability issues. In addition, I am a freelance writer and editor, focusing on legal and political issues, with a special interest in constitutional law and civil rights matters.
