I have 15 years of experience editing a broad range of English language texts including books, articles, academic dissertations, resumes, and financial documents. I have taught English as a foreign language in Vietnam and worked as a corporate editor editing English language documents translated from Vietnamese, Thai, Lao and Khmer. While I was in Vietnam I also edited books translated into English from Vietnamese for a major publishing house in Hanoi, and articles for the English language website of the Voice of Vietnam news agency.
I worked in an independent bookstore in the USA for over 13 years during which time I read eclectically and voraciously (mostly literary fiction, travel writing, cookbooks, and cultural and art related subjects) and wrote book reviews for magazines. I have written restaurant reviews, articles and personal essays for magazines both in the USA and abroad.
I was born and raised in America but went to college and university in England and lived there for 13 years. I am familiar with and have edited both American and British English. My background is in fine art so I feel I bring a unique perspective to any work that I undertake.
