Profile	My passion for the written word drives my proofreading and editing skills. Errors in any form disrupt what could be a wonderful novel, article or any other written work. No author wants to have a reader focus on the errors a computer program has missed and yet that happens frequently to me when I read. No spell check or grammar program is equivalent to a pair of human eyes when it comes to the written word. I began my proofreading career in college quite by accident when I was asked to read term papers. As I found errors and offered advice, I discovered there was a market for these skills. As the daughter of a published author, I have had the opportunity to provide my services to a variety of individuals in the writing community. I have also judged writing contests which required feedback regarding proofreading and editing. One of the greatest assets I have is my ability to read quickly and understand what I have read. I am capable of reading 450 words per minute with comprehension and therefore can complete a proofreading and editing job in a very reasonable amount of time. I know that time is the most important commodity we all have and recognize the need for an accurate time estimate as well as a promptly completed project. Work experience

Present Occupation: I am currently employed at an independent bookstore on a part-time basis. I am also the mother of two young boys on a full-time basis.
Editing Experience in Years: I have been proofreading for individuals as needed for fifteen years. I began as a college student and have had multiple opportunities over the past fifteen years to work with a variety of projects. I proofread a variety of documents as part of my job at the bookstore as well.

Computer experience

I use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat reader for my personal needs. However, I am glad to consider whatever software is needed for the project.
