Profile I've been a professional newspaper editor and writer for nearly a decade, starting at the copy desk level in the trenches of hard editing and headline writing. I managed to get my first action on the journalism battlefield via my Dow Jones Newspaper Fund editing internship, one of the more selective internships in the newspaper business. I went from editing on the desk to getting an open spot in features, where I wrote about everything from independent pro wrestling to religion in video games. I'm now an assistant city editor at The Sun newspaper in San Bernardino, helping to direct coverage and run the metro desk.

In addition to the standard grammar, spelling and punctuation, I'm well-versed in working with varied styles of writing, whether it's technical writing, a story about a kidnapping or a review pontificating on the impact of "Super Mario Bros." on society.

I also have experience in other forms of media, especially online. I have done podcasting work and maintain a video game blog for our newspapers, and I have also contributed as a co-host for a video game-focused talk show (All Games Interactive) before it went on hiatus last year.

As an aside, I have a wide range of personal interests, which I believe adds to my diversity as an editor: Movies, hip-hop music, martial arts (including MMA), books, medicine and of course, video games.

Working in the newspaper industry, especially as an editor, requires me to be adept at managing people as well as projects. I am a no-frills editor whose chief concern is making sure the cleanest and best work is presented, in addition to helping writers grow and maximize their talents.
