The key to any writing or editing is communication. All writing shares that common goal. This editor has been trained in the art of communication and persuasion, while attaining a J.D. and pursuing a budding law practice.

I am a recent graduate from Marquette Law School, where I took a number of courses in legal writing. These courses forced me to pay very close attention to how grammatical and spelling errors change the meaning of a sentence. Such precise meaning is essential to a lawyer's communication skills, which, in turn, are essential to good avocacy.
While in law school, I competed in two appellate advocacy competitions. Both had a heavily weighted writing component.
Prior to law school, I completed a B.A. in History with minors in Political Science and Philosophy - all of which required a substantial amount of writing.
I am on this site as an editor for the simple fact that I really enjoy the subtleties of good writing and the art of written communication. My law practice uses much more verbal communication than I expected, and I want to continue using my grammar and editing skills to keep my own written communication sharp.
