I am a Medical Technologist by education and training with over 25 years of successful experience as a manager in several clinical (hospital) laboratory settings. In this role, I have extensive experience writing policies and procedures in all areas of the clinical laboratory including Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Banking, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Point of Care testing, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement documents. I have also created numerous technical documents, case studies, monthly reports related to both operations and finance, and operating instructions for many types of equipment. I have developed training materials for other staff including supporting illustrative materials. I regularly write and publish an in-house newsletter for whom the target audience is made up of non-laboratorians, most frequently nursing staff. In addition to the creation of the documents listed above, it is also frequently my responsibility to review, approve and revise (edit) the work of others.
I serve as an adjunct instructor for medical laboratory technician and medical technology programs, working closely with students. This involvement requires I remain current with educational requirements, texts and coursework.
