Fantastic teachers help create leaders who have enough book smarts and common sense to make genuine differences in society. I've taught elementary school for five years and have risen to the challenge of doing just that...impacting the world. In Texas, the TAKS test, or Texas Achievement of Knowledge and Skills, has dominated lesson plans and classrooms for the last several years as a result of the high stakes pressure that the test naturally breeds.
