Good day. I currently work in a data entry position and am looking for a part-time position in proofreading and/or editing. I have done proofreading work on a volunteer basis for AltarMagazine.com, plus personal proofreading for co-workers while employed.
As a proofreader for that organization, I have proofread articles prior to their publication, both in their magazine and on their website. Generally I do proofreading work for them on a quarterly basis, completing the proofreading work well within the established deadlines. The last time I did proofreading work for them, I received the following response: “Thanks so much! We're so happy to have you as a volunteer. If you're up for reviewing a couple more, just let me know and I'll send them your way.” I have also done proofreading in my current position of employment during the day shift for other co-workers, plus quality assurance testing which included spell checking, checking for continuity, and link checking, in addition to checking grammar, punctuation, and other proofreading. I have billing & customer service experience, am great with numbers, and scored a rare 100% on an MS Excel test. I am looking to make my after-work downtime productive!
