I majored in and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English-Creative Writing. My skills include typing (approx. 55 words per minute), word-processing, writing (short stories, poetry, articles), and proofreading. Also, in August of 2006, I published a collection of poetry and lyrics entitled, "From the Girl in the Box." I do not have job experience as a proofreader, but I have been one for many years, starting from the age of 13. I have typed documents for those who needed help with spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. In addition, I have proofread resumes and school papers for family members. My passion is writing and with that comes being a perfectionist, making sure that every word is spelled correctly, each sentence is well-versed, and each punctuation mark is in its right place. It's a real pain to read much of what is written on websites and chat boards, as much of it is carelessly written, and people tend to write exactly as they speak. I often have the urge to go into their accounts and correct all of their written errors. As far as work experience, I consider myself well-rounded. I have a year of clerical experience, and in that position, I did word processing, which allowed me to exercise my proofreading skills. My potential clients will be pleased with my skills and delivery, and I feel that I'd be beneficial to their needs.
